Saints, Vikings and pirate queens

We conquered the third peak of Achill. Minaum and its place of memories (we did drive most of the way up 😁😁.) We’ve climbed the highest, Slievemor and walked along the highest cliffs under Croaghaun.

The Atlantic drive around the rest of the island was different again with sea stacks and crashing waves and a pirate queens,Granuaile’s, tower.

We thought about visiting St Patrick’s mountain but couldn’t get parked so had to give it a miss. Instead, after a wee spot of lunch and a visit to old head harbour we made our way to the only true fjord in Ireland where we camped among the rhododendron overlooking it.
