Day 2 18.5 miles harestains to kirk yetholm complete.
Again the weather was brilliant, the bonus being we didn’t get wet. We all woke up very early and were walking by 9.45am. The morning was fairly easy going and before we knew it we were in Morebattle for coffee and ice cream. On the way we stopped off for a quick look at Cessford castle where we did as we were told and did not climb on the ruins!! But it was a really interesting place. Just down the road we met Chris, Mr Pink Hat, an amazing 70 year old man walking from Lands end to John O’Groats, the hard mountain way, and back for Hope and homes for Children. He was on his 55th day and looked as fresh as a daisy. Good luck Chris.
The climbing started after Morebattle and although we all walked at our own pace we all coped well. Before we knew it we were at the Border hotel in Kirk Yetholm drinking a well earned pint and stocking up the energy reserves for tomorrow.
