An oasis in the Rocks

Glenveagh national park is a very large national park with a castle at its centre. The park is miles and miles of bleak Rock covered mountains. The castle and its grounds on the other hand are full of life and colour.

Misty was not allowed on the shuttle bus so we walked the 4km to the castle along the side of the lough. The grounds were divided into many different areas, the biggest of which was the walled garden. The trails through them we very well maintained as were the gardens. They contained a large variety of plants from rhododendron to tree ferns to aquilegia to vegetables.

The cake and coffee was amazing and all the young American children thought misty was amazing too.

In all we think that we walked about 6 miles and misty slept all the way back to the site so she’s missed seeing the bloody forelend, only called because the sunset makes the cliffs bright red , like the Poisoned Glen is really the Heavenly Glen all because of a miss translation.

P.S. it rained really heavy for the first time but we were in the van having our tea 😁😁 🌧️🌧️
