Today was a day of crossing borders. We crossed from France to Italy over the Col de Lombardie. The scenery was magnificent as it has been for the last week. Wild flower meadows are abundant in the Alps and as we drove through Italy on our way back to France we saw lots of them. The Journey through Italy consisted of many hairpins and small twisting roads. Eventually we drove back into France following the Alps for many a mile. The lower we got the gentler the landscape became and the wildflower meadows turned into cultivated fields. The most impressive been the sunflowers.

Max loves the high hairpins but was quite pleased to be able to put his foot down a wee bit and even pointed out one or two lakes, which were sparkling in the sunshine.

Arrived in our appartment in Lyon ready for the city lights and culture.
