Mishap or Adventure

Before leaving Malestroit we went in search of a cash machine and found a market!  We love markets, can never resist them. Today we only bought cake and a cadeaux.  We finally said goodbye to Malestroit at 10am and headed downstream in the sunshine.

We did have one or two mishaps but it turned into a adventure of survival.  Todays locks were all manageable except for when the boat bumped and Barbara fell at the lock keepers feet… she didn’t fall into the water or drowned.

Lock keepers need to eat so shut up shop between 12.30 and 1.30, this suited our needs and we had lunch in St Martins sur oust.

To our joy one of the locks had a cafe selling coffee and ice cream!!

On the river again today’s destination Redon was neatly thwarted but some unruly middle aged men. In their smaller boat they overtook us and being a lot faster they almost scuttled the lot of us because of the large bow wave. We finally passed through the last lock for today and found a mooring,  although lovely we had to scramble up a high wall to tie off the ropes.

A great fun filled day full of adventure.
