Not quite l’giro

Misty did well yesterday but not well enough to go anywhere today so after taking her for a short walk, and having had lunch, we hired bikes and cycled of into the hills.

The cycle paths were excellent. All off road, following an undulating route towards the hills. The end of the path (around 10k) was in a nature reserve which had a beautiful small lake which was covered in yellow water lillies.

Of course this being our Giro !!! when we saw the hairpins rising on the road beyond we had to have a go!!! Two was enough 😉.

Took a detour through a sleepy little village on the way back. The only people in sight were a group of local elderly men playing cards outside a bar. We stopped, had a local beer, and watched them for a while. The only other detour was to the local gelateria which we decided we thoroughly deserved.

A lovely afternoon and Misty was well rested when we got back.
