A different perspective.

Over night was a bus park (and motor home) on the outside of Siena. By 9am at least 30 coaches were parked next to us so we thought lets keep out of the way today. Misty agreed and tried, sometimes successfully to drink out of every fountain (and there were lots) on the way up to our chosen, researched area of Siena. We headed for The Medici Fortress of Siena (also called Forte di Santa Barbara). To our delight this is very much a local spot and in fact there is an outdoor gym and running path along the top of the wall. So we were the only tourists in sight and saw a more local perspective of Siena. The views were superb, the walk cool and all after a coffee at a local cafe.

We escaped Siena and went on a wee tour of the Chianti classico region (Black cockerel) visiting Radda and Castellina. Both were a bit more touristy than we have been used to so heading for the hills tomorrow.
