Serendipity

Serendipity

We left quiet little Vrbnik in the sunshine and drove back across the bridge off the island of Krk. The coastal drive between Krk and Zadar was breathtaking and eating packed lunch watching the sea was equally so. Ian’s diversion up a hill was 9 mile long and serpentinous ( road signs all mentioned serpentine 😆)

The views from the top were amazing, i know we say that all the time but it’s true . Just too prove one day it can be 17° and the next snowing. We had a snowball fight….. Ian missed.,.also tested Max’s snow tyres 👍👍👍.

Zadar was surprisingly easy to find and get parked and so was the apartment….well nearly. Great apartment and very central.

Refreshment was necessary, it was 17° after all. We enjoyed a drink listening to the fabled sea organ. A manmade art installation using waves to make music. Alongside this was another feat of human engineering, ‘the greeting to the sun’ solar panels that after sunset create a wonderful light show. A wee local restaurant provided sustenance in the way of fish stew and sea bream after which we revisited the light show which in the dark was far better.

All in all a far better day than expected….how serendipitous
