Gualdo Tadino PG, Italy
A tale of two cities (OK Italian towns)
Gubbio was so different full of people, the buzz of excitement and the obvious camaraderie of the locals made the Ceri festival something not to be missed. We drank coffee with the locals, and were squeezed shoulder to shoulder in the main square whilst the teams, after a lot of processions, formalities and roaring crowds, chased each other 3 times round the flagpole to mark the start of the race up to the church of St. Ubbaldo on the top of the mountain.
After lunch we headed for Gualdo Tadino th see a stage finish of the Giro d’Italia. Again there was a great buzz of excitement and Simon Yates held his lead and all Chris Froome had to show was cuts and bruises.
