Overcast Clouds, 11°C

Calgary Bay, Isle of Mull

We left our forest parking way too early for us but were at the ferry by 8.30. The only downside of the ferry was no views as we had to stay in the van due to covid regs. Once on Mull we drove along some more tiny single track roads to the base of Ben More. We started at sea level so actually climbed 966m. Every step of the way was dryer than ben hope and, although a heck of a climb, was worth it to see the 360 degree view from the top. At one point we thought “oh no!!!” As the cloud came down, but then “Woohoo” as after a few 100 more metres the sky cleared. As well as hoardes of people we saw at least 2 eagles and even a little vole which jumped up in front of us. We had such a lovely walk, and it was warm and sunny, why wouldn’t you cool your feet in a waterfall pool of a mountain stream.

We thought why only do one single track road when we can do 2, and it was the only way to the best beach on Mull which we had promised Misty a walk on. Misty is now happy and fast asleep.
