We’ve been end to end, and sea to sea. This time we go west on Skye to Neist Point and lighthouse. Minke whales were sighted here at the beginning of May so we took our binoculars but it was obviously too rough, cold and windy for them as we did not even see a fin. But the rock formations reminded us of the giants causeway and they were spectacular again. Headed back up the steep rather outdated steps just as the sleet came down. Really pleased we have a motorhome. Coffee tastes so much better on the inside looking outside at the rain. Feeling rather damp we called in at a local cafe and had delicious hot mocha and cake before heading out to the coral beach along more narrow single track roads.
Another wet and windy walk and the loss of a glove led us to this beautiful beach. Despite its name the beach is not actually coral but is fossilised and sun bleached algae. Well i never it looked like tiny bits of coral and sparkly shells!
A hot shower was very welcome on returning to the campsite, now tucked up in the warmth of the van.
