A change in the weather brings a change of scene. Fresh snow on the top of the Cuillins this morning. Misty looked up, said no way, lets head north!! So we did. The fairy pools did not look inviting as we passed so we headed to Portree to replenish supplies. Pizza, wine and some other food..
We took Misty for a walk at the Lump, “a scenic headland with trails and watchtower” above Portree harbour and its pretty painted cottages. The watchtower was actually an apothecary serving passing ships with ailing seafarers.
We knew it was bank holiday monday because the carpark had at least 18 motorhomes including french and asian tourists.
Stopped for lunch by the Old Man of Storr for a recce, looked grim, but we’re not going to change our minds we are going up it tomorrow but we are feeling kind so misty can stay in the van.
Arrived at campsite which is more sheltered than the one we thought we were going to. Hunkering down for the evening in the warmth of the van preparing for tomorrow.
