Scattered Clouds, 6°C
Booked our lunch for 1.30 in Lower Diabaig.
Pro. Food looked fabulous
Con. 9 miles along a single track road going up, down, up, down, up…
Misty still a wee bit sore so decided to cycle
Pro. Good weather forecast. Sun and Showers
Con. Up and down. Up and down, Up and down.
Parked up in nice shady carpark and waved Misty goodbye. The ride to Lower Diabaig was fabulous. We only had to get off once when the road was too steep and the last mile all down hill would have been excellent but was so steep we had to use our brakes all the way down especially on the hairpins.
The harbour although remote was absolutely beautiful and the Gille Brighde restaurant absolutely awesome (gille brighde meaning oyster catcher very appropriate as misty used to love chasing them at St. Marys loch ). Lots of langoustines, Scallop, smoked salmon, smoked mussels, herring, mackerel and prawns and home made bread. Topped off with a bottle of Scottish beer. Pudding inside (no booze) by the fire.
Big con. Time to go home. See previous paragraph on 1 mile steep down hill… We walked up!!
On the way back to the van it hailed so after a quick walk up the burn with Misty we went back to the campsite.
