Châteauneuf-du-Pape, France
Following in Hannibal’s Footsteps (minus elephants)
Our last day on Islon Saint Luc our little island on the Rhone campsite on the outskirts of Chateauneuf-du-pape. The now familiar walk took us not to the castle but a very nice restaurant with a fantastic view from the terrace with its own cave (wine cellar) The Plat de jour was awesome as were the wines 🍷. We even got a box to carry them home in.
Misty missed out on that excursion so we walked along the Rhone to Hers Tower, it’s most famous legend being Hannibals crossing of the Rhone with his army and elephants on their way to Rome.
Croissant and baguette ordered for the morning. Italy here we come.
