A taste of home

7deg and raining!!!! ☔ 😂. We saw some spectacular changes of scenery today. From vast open field with high hedges filled with laburnum and lilac and gardens adorned with wisteria and clematis, to what looked like the Bonny hills of Scotland. May blossom (hawthorn to you young things out there) it’s in full bloom. “Ne’er cast a clout til may is out” obviously doesn’t make any sense in France (see first sentence)

French supermarkets are wondrous places, could spend hours but relented and just bought canard, champagne and macarons.

The ‘puy du dome’ at Clermont-Ferrand is not quite as impressive as we thought although probably better when clouds lift. Volcanoes should be more impressive 🤔
