But Mont Ventoux is a magnet (for cyclists)
We came to Provence to see the lavender and it is glorious. We drove to Sault and saw fields and fields of it, in all stages of growth. The best way to see lavender is to walk in it so we followed the Chemin des Lavandes (lavender path) for about 3km, along paths, roads and through the fields. By this time it was 1.30pm and we were hungry and thirsty so we went to Sault for lunch on a terrace overlooking the lavender fields.
Both Max and Sixty needed some fresh air so we went for a drive up Mont Ventoux passing the memorial for Tom Simpson, British cyclist. The panoramic views from the top were magnificent, although a little hazy despite the wind. Max really enjoyed a bit of freedom to enjoy himself on the way up, and Sixty got cooler.
