Thursday 13th April 2023

Today was about shopping and exploration as per usual in a new place. After breakfast with the local wildlife, reddy for short, we headed for the supermarket. The shopping was relatively easy, exploration not so much.

We have followed St Francis of Assisi all over the place so where better to start than his Chapel overlooking Naquera. A lovely little Chapel but locked, but the door had a great peep hole so we could see inside.

Ooh where does this go? The map says to a cross on a hill. Off we went. It started off on a wide track but got narrower and steeper and more scrambly. We persevered and climbed to the cross but then on the horizon was el Pinar summit. Only a short hike and we could revel in the panoramic views of where we were staying passed Valencia to the sea beyond.

The way down was less hazardous than the way up, ie easier and less steep. We ended up back where we started with St Francis. A good 10km circuit.

Back to our quirky Gaudi apartment for a well earned drink! Not out of the water fountain either 🤣🤣🤣
