We Finally Made It

On our 3rd attempt we are finally in Amsterdam. Woohoo. However today we have driven 450 miles and therefore no pictures.

We do want to pay tribute to our wee car, Max. We will have driven him over 3000 miles by the time we get home and he never said no once. There’s never been so much as a splutter, and he’s averaged 44mpg. We started off in a cold Scotland, went on to a snowy Germany and then lots of sunshine. He’s allowed the wind in our hair every day but 2 and loved every minute of it. PS here’s got a very good heater.

We have a few apologies to make to him.

• We’ve only managed to wash you once, then because the limestone dust became to much
• We scraped your bottom just before climbing Dinara.
• We’ve had to leave you in some dodgy car parks.
• On occasion we’ve left you 2 days without driving you.
• We frightened you by allowing trams to drive right at you in the middle of Zagreb.
• We did not shout loud enough when other cars cut you up.
• We wouldn’t let you race big black Audi’s (we knew you could take them Max)
• We made you hug the inside of the hills on steep little windy roads so you did not get to see the view.
• We’ll pack less next time so you can have more fun.
