Changed our minds again, we’re nothing but flexible. Neither of us have ever been to the Ardnamurchan peninsula, so we thought we would go. Back to Tobermory we went and caught the 11.00 ferry to Kilchoan. After a quick croissant and coffee at the puffin cafe we took a quick left and went to Sanna Beach, the most westerly point on the mainland. Misty joined us on the 3 mile walk there and back. We met Sammy the seal and Ollie the oystercatcher and saw another eagle. Getting blazè about wildlife now!! Barbara picked up a few shells before we headed back to the van for a late lunch and to get out of the blustery wind.
We had actually planned our route to our overnight stop but paased by loads of parked up campervans and motorhomes so we kept driving to Glen Coe. On the way we stopped for coffee in a lay-by and heard a most peculiar noise, was it a plane? Was it a boat? No it was the Jacobite steam train returning to Fort William on the opposite side of the loch. If we had been 7 miles further up the road we would have seen it steaming over the Glenfinnan viaduct! (Jane, Olivia and Amelia called to say hi during the journey.)
