After driving miles and miles through the wilderness that is the north west highlands we found Altnaharra campsite. Probably the most remote but definitely one of the most beautiful small campsites we have ever stopped on. We’re pitched feet away from the lochside looking into the distance at Ben Klibreck and have been told to look out for the deer coming down from the hillside in the evening.
We’re on an economy, eco pitch (basically no electricity,) because it is all they had left but it means we are almost on our own out of sight of the other units. Facilities are few and basic but who needs them at a place like this??
