Beguiling but Misleading

Cycled from the site to Blarney Castle. Misty could not go but we did find a suitable replacement 😁😁. Thought we would see the castle before the grounds, ending up in the queue for the Blarney stone but the only way to see inside the castle. As we were pasing the stone anyway Barbara thought she might as well give it a kiss 😘 can she be any more beguiling or misleading?? The castle was fascinating, caves, dungeons, a 15m pit to trap unwelcome visitors and murder holes as well as steep spiral steps.

The gardens were peaceful after the castle as most people are only there to kiss the stone!!! We walked through woodland glades, fern gardens, poisoned gardens and rock terrace. Barbara made a wish at the wishing steps by walking down backwards with eyes shut and back up. Passed 500year old Yew Trees and lots of other mythical/magical bits far too many to mention.

Cake not so good, possibly because the slices were too big, but the ice cream made up for it. Unfortunately the cycle ride back was up hill all the way
