Beara Peninsula
Retracing out steps of yesterday for a few miles enabled us to stop and admire the views as the tour buses had not reached us going around the ring of Kerry bus one way system. Our first coffee stop had the best views ever. The coffee and cake were good too😉.
Our main stop of the day was Derreen Garden Which covers more than 60 acres and has more than 12km of paths. At some points we thought we were in a sub tropical jungle. The tree ferns we amazing and were self seeding all over the place. 100’s of them. Along side these were huge rhododendron, some planted when the garden was first conceived in 1870. We picked a little sheltered spot on the site line to eat out cold sausages and crisps and basked in the sunshine for a while.
Nearly 3 hours later we thought that we had better find some where to stay. We found a small campfire with amazing views and thought that will do us.
