Escaped from sleepy hollows in one piece and went looking for Maghera Caves. The tide was going out and after lunch in the van the rain abated and we ventured out in search of caves. A long walk on the beach, which misty loved, let the tide go out a little bit further so we could explore some of the caves. A small rock fall startled us and made us realise we should not dally for too long. So hey, why not, let’s go over the smallest, narrowest, steepest road we could find over the top to our next destination. Ian loves the challenge whilst Barbara sits and shakes!!
We eventually found, after some excellent navigation as the roads were not on the map, Sliabh Liag Europe’s highest sea cliffs. Wow and wow again. We walked for about an hour along the cliff tops. The sky and sea were blue and we wished we had not put on as many jumpers. Magnificent is the only word.
We found a little carpark next to the beach at Fintra bay to spend the night. Perfect.
