l’eroica (Vintage bike rally and ride for those who may be confused 😊)

Of hottest day so far. We set out early for a walk to the small village of Monterongriffoli. Obviously had seen better days and showed us that not all of Tuscany is picture perfect. Although lots of renovating going on (possibly for tourism) it was a glimpse of the old Tuscany

Getting too hot for Misty (we were fine… NOT) so we headed back to the campsite where we sat reading under our sun sail for the next 4 hours, 30deg is definitely to hot to wander.

Set out again at about 4pm. Could not get parked in Montalcino , Loads of people ,so went on to Buonconvento. a pleasant walled town with a coop and a gelato shop. This refreshed us enough to head back to Montalcino to try out luck again. Found a parking space and walked into the town. Only then did we realise it was so busy because of the vintage bicycle rally (l’eroica) . Lots going on today with the ride tomorrow. Nearly lost Ian in a market of bits of old bikes. Despite this the views were amazing and we were pleased we made the effort.
